It’s an incredible 14 yr old project that has developed as a textile narrative of community voices, internationally, over that time.

B-side have been gifted a calico ‘sister’ dress by The Red Dress project, which will be embellished with Portland stories and by people linked to the Island.

There will be workshops taking place between January and July where people will come together to add their story, or voice, in textiles, and these pieces will then be added to The Portland Dress which will be exhbited at the b-side BIG weekend Sept 11-14 2025.

We have two brilliant Portland based artists who will be leading these workshops, Antje Rook  and Sarah Whiteside, Both have their own uninque textile practises and both have a passion for sharing their skills. Take a look at their bios below.
