Sarah Elizabeth

A local textilist, living on Portland, with a passion for textile history and fashion

I am an experienced designer of bespoke Bridalwear, sustainable fashion and historical Costuming.
I have shared my skills as an educator for over 20 years, and now deliver 1:1 and group tuition to local sewists, artists and designers at my studio by the sea, Stepford Studios on Weymouth’s South Harbourside.
My collaborative work within the Portland Dress project will explore themes of hope, heritage and heirloom pieces; how textiles connect us to our lineage and language, and allow us to tell our stories of self and of our island community.
