Join our Board
If you believe in the potential of contemporary art to champion diverse communities, then we would love to hear from you.
We welcome applications from people living and working on Portland, and elsewhere.
We are looking for inclusive and thoughtful individuals who understand our mission and will support us to continue to build a social, environmental, and financially resilient arts organisation. We welcome applications from inside and outside of the cultural sector, you do not have to have worked for an organisation like b-side before or have previously volunteered as a Non-Executive Director.
We believe our work will be stronger with greater board diversity and actively welcome applications from those who bring balance to our current Board of Directors.
We can provide a budget for travel to board meetings and for any access requirements. For example, support workers, BSL interpreters, and the production of governance papers in a variety of formats. We can also provide training for any aspect of the role.
What do the Board do?
Our Non-Executive Directors support the strategic vision and business plan for b-side’s year-round creative programming, celebrating the local, international, and everywhere in between.
Our Non-Executive Directors will be people for whom; inclusivity, internationalisation, and sensitivity to our host community on the Isle of Portland are paramount.
They should share our genuine love of site-responsive art making, championing b-side to create projects that explore, celebrate and challenge everyone’s relationship to place, socially, historically and environmentally.
b-side is an equal opportunities employer, who is actively seeking to employ people currently under-represented in the creative and cultural sector. This includes young people, ethnic minorities, and Disabled people.
