‘Washed Up’ is a collection of beach drift found on Portland beaches, cast in agar jelly and palm oil. The agar casts are temporary art works and can be dissolved with boiling water. The agar will decompose throughout the festival, this highlights the contrast between the natural biodegradable matter and the permanence of plastics; eventually all that will be left is the plastic.
