Viva Voce is a sound poetry performance exploring displacement and the role water plays in this and the themes of loss and home.
Using the Thames and Exe rivers as a starting point, it traces the movement of tides, people, animals and goods, blending reflections on two great rivers bound together by a shared history of trade, movement and migration.
Viva Voce is a continuation of Belinda’s continuing research and development of how sound can intersect with her poetic works.
This piece is a creative response to b-side’s theme: Who Do We Think We Are?
In partnership with Counterpoints Arts.
3pm In Conversation
Following the performance at 3pm there will be an open to all conversation between artists Belinda Zhawi and Ioannis Panagiotou with b-side co-artistic director Sally Watkins.
