Night Flowers is an installation of 50 drawings and prints made by artist Liz Lake over the past 5 .
The series began as a visual exploration into back pain, using printmaking to map felt experiences within the body. These early pieces coincided with visiting a cranial osteopath, who shifted the pain by bringing to the surface the emotional residue of an event the mind had moved on from, but the body remembered. This initiated a fascination with what we store in our bodies, what we pass between generations, and different ways of transforming grief into growth.
The installation is housed in a small cottage close to Chesil Beach, its personal setting reflecting the internal nature of the work.
