Join artists Dawn and Peter from Light Space Colour for a playful workshop inspired by the memories, myths and magic of Portland Fair.
Using archival photographs, shared stories and simple materials, you’ll create fantastical shadow puppets and projections that bring the fair’s forgotten echoes to life. No experience is needed—just imagination.
The shadows you make will help shape And So Our Shadows Dance, a festival artwork where ghostly fairground shadows appear across Portland’s buildings, as though the fair packed up and left… but forgot to take its shadows with it.
A relaxed workshop for all ages and abilities, with tea, coffee, juice and biscuits provided.
