Portland Fair may have left long ago, but its shadows remain.
As darkness falls, ghostly echoes of rides, crowds, lights and memories dance across buildings in a magical outdoor projection inspired by archival photographs, local stories and a touch of the otherworldly. Created using cardboard, old toys, photographs and light, the projections transform everyday materials into giant moving spectacles that bring the fair vividly back to life.

During the first 45 minutes of each session, create your own fairground shadow using cut-outs, coloured gels and fantastical half-truths. Watch your creation grow to monumental scale and become part of this strange and beautiful procession of memories. Part artwork, part community creation, Shadows of the Fair invites you into a place where the fair has gone—but never quite disappeared.
