Looking Like Flowers, Stamping Like Mad.

As Tourists, what are our perceptions of reality and fantasy? I am an Italian/Hispanic artist living in the UK and I started to look into the history of Flamenco, the iconic dance of Spain, and realised that the popular perception of it introduced through a touristic and national propaganda started by the dictator Franco in order to establish a strong Spanish identity during his dictatorship, has very little to do with the origin of the dance; this is an Art that was embraced by the very people that Franco oppressed: the outsiders.

I became enthused with the vision of stamping and became more and more convinced that this was due to the notion of repossessing the land, the reclamation of identity and the affirmation of a new transnational culture.
