The Great Gale

1st November 2024 - 30th November 2024

A project to commemorate The Great Gale of 1824

On the night of 22nd November 1824 a storm of unprecedented ferocity hit the Dorset coast, flooding many houses, destroying villages in its path and claimed many lives during the two days that it besieged the coast. 

In partnership with Dorset Coast Forum b-side presents a programme of events to explore the impact of the storm. Check out the events below.
