Because b-side works so closely with the local community, businesses, audiences and participants on artistic projects, we have felt it would beneficial to host a new ‘friends’ group who could offer more time and local expertise in enabling b-side to develop and maintain closer connections in Weymouth and Portland.
The Friends of b-side is a valuable new group of dedicated stewards and hosts, participants, venue owners and artists who would like to be a part of the development of b-side throughout the year.
Meeting every month in an informal setting, the group can offer evaluation and feedback on b-side activity, may undertake fundraising activity, offer local knowledge to enable connections between communities and artists, have an input into future projects and artistic activity.

b-side’s programme extends beyond the biennial festival and reaches out across the community with an engagement programme offering opportunities in mentoring, participation and social enterprise to young people, early career artists and anyone with a passion for the arts.
You can help b-side continue to make a real difference to the communities of Weymouth and Portland and their audiences by becoming a Member or Sponsor, with packages starting from just £15 per year.
