Kickstart Scheme jobs at b-side

As part of the Government’s Kickstart Scheme, we have created 2 new roles at b-side.

The Kickstart Scheme is a £2 billion fund that is supporting the direct creation of high quality 6-month work placements aimed at those aged 16-24 who are on Universal Credit and are deemed to be at risk of long-term unemployment. It will give young people the chance to build their confidence and skills in the workplace, and to gain experience that will improve their chances of going on to find long-term, sustainable work.

b-side Assistant Project Manager (Youth Programme) 

Pay: £10 per hour
Hours: 25 hours per week
Time Period: March 2021 to September 2021 (6 months / 26 weeks)
Total fee: £6,500
Location: Outpost, 77 Fortuneswell, Isle of Portland

THE ROLE

b-side are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to assist with our youth programme: New Curators Programme, New Artists Mentoring Scheme & the Erasmus+ international youth exchange.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-profile arts organisation that commissions artists to make new work for the Isle of Portland. You will work closely with the Youth Programme Co-ordinator in all aspects of the youth programme management. This is a great opportunity to experience what it’s like working in a busy arts organisation as well as learn how to produce and manage artistic programmes/projects (particularly for young people and youth-led work).

b-side Marketing Assistant

b-side is seeking a Marketing Assistant for its 2021 Festival. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-profile arts organisation that commissions artists to make new work. You will be an integral member of the project team and will be involved many aspects of the project – with a particular emphasis on marketing & social media.

THE ROLE

The Marketing Assistant will assist the Marketing Manager in all aspects of marketing management and delivery. Working closely with the Marketing Manager the marketing assistant will learn how to create marketing and communications material for b-side festival 2021. There will be a focus on creating digital material and social media assets to promote the festival and its artists and artworks.

These positions are paid above the real living wage hourly rate and would suit a recent graduate looking to develop a career in the arts, this is a fantastic opportunity to experience working in a busy arts organisation with a national reputation. A can-do attitude is essential as is the ability to work well under pressure.  Leading up to events you will be expected to work evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays as required.
