Deadline for applications: Tuesday 12th April 2022, 9am BST
b-side (Dorset), Creatives Garage (Nairobi), and London College of Communications (London) are inviting proposals for That Other Place.
Proposals can be for any amount up to £10,000 (GBP).
That Other Place is a paid commission opportunity for a queer identifying artist or arts collective from the following countries to create a major new extended reality artwork:
Algeria, Argentina, Bangladesh, Brazil, China, Colombia, Egypt, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mexico, Morocco, Myanmar, Nepal, Nigeria, Occupied Palestinian Territory, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, South Africa, Sudan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, and Vietnam. You do not need to be living currently in your country of origin to apply, for example, you could be a Kenyan artist living in the UK and be eligible to apply.
The commissioned artwork will engage with the idea of hybrid work – an artwork that can be experienced by audiences both in the physical and digital world and will be shared with online and face-to face audiences at b-side festival which takes place from 08 – 11 September 2022 on the Isle of Portland, Dorset, UK.
Deadline for applications: Tuesday 12th April 2022, 9am BST.
