If you came along to b-side festival 2023 you may have found yourself decked out in goggles and a hard hat bashing some old electronic equipment!

Hundreds of visitors took part in ‘Modern Mining’ an installation by artist Katie Surridge helping her extract precious metals from old phones, laptops and gadgets to extract enough copper to create a new piece of art.
