The Friends of b-side organised the very first b-side fundraiser on 27 Nov at Stonehall on Portland. Over 60 people came along to listen to international artist Luke Jerram talk about his diverse arts practice from tiny, intimate artworks infused with special meaning for the recipient to huge public events involving hundreds of people in the making of the artwork.
Food was supplied by chef Luciano from the Blue Fish and Hive Beach Cafe and after Luke finished his talk (who was exuberantly encouraged to go on after his allocated time by the audience) guests enjoyed an evening of good food and company within the beautiful surroundings of Stonehall.
The event raised over £400 for b-side’s programme of work with artists, residents and young people and will be the first of many events that the Friends of b-side hope to run over the next year.
