“We are delighted to announce that b-side has secured continued funding from Arts Council England as one of its National Portfolio Organisations. This means – alongside our other key funders, Heritage Lottery Fund, Dorset Council, and Pennsylvania Castle – we can continue to deepen our community connections and expand our national and international reach by commissioning ambitious new contemporary art on and with the people and places of our magical home, the Isle of Portland.
We would like to send our thanks and thoughts to all our friends, colleagues, and supporters at this time, especially those who are also hearing their own outcomes to Arts Council England applications.”
Raina Summerson, Chair of b-side’s board and on behalf of all b-side team and board.

We’re pleased to offer continued regular investment to b-side festival through the Arts Council’s 2023-26 National Portfolio programme.
Their unique approach brings communities together to celebrate the cultural and creative identity on the rural Isle of Portland in Dorset. Their fantastic collaborative approach inspires audiences and artists alike, and reaches across Dorset and further afield. We can’t wait to see them continue to develop their offer over the next three years.
