Developed during a residency on Portland, The Island Beneath the Skin is a series of performances and movement encounters exploring the relationship between body, memory and landscape.
Inspired by time spent walking, observing and responding to Portland’s quarries, coastlines and hidden places, Jamal Sterrett creates live works that invite audiences to experience the island through movement and attentive observation.
Jamel Sterrett’s movements are truly mesmerising, do not miss! Each performance will take place 3 times at intervals at each location. We guarantee you won’t have seen anything quite so beautiful or awe inspiring as this!
