"A pulsing, gorgeous and threatening world woven out of sound sculptures and beautiful, rhythmic notes”
Come and experience this incredible installation in the historic High Angle Battery by Mark Anderson and Liam Walsh.
A captivating sound-world that comes alive through an ensemble of visually striking ‘instruments’ – gongs, bells, whistles and explosive events. ‘State of Alarm’ gives a voice to the social and ecological alarm rippling across our planet. A hypnotic and playful invitation to contemplate our future together.
The audience will be submerged into a haunting and deeply resonant sound world from the dark tunnels and concrete gun emplacements to the windswept mounds of the Battery landscape.
This new visual sound installation by Mark Anderson and Liam Walsh will combine elements of their highly sucessful show Warning Notes, site specific new work, Phantom Field sonic wind synthesisers, and the ghostly dance of the Feather Dervishes.
New work by local poets Peter Cooper and Molly Dunne will be threaded through this sonic landscape as they explore the history of the site, and respond to the world we now find ourselves, living in a state of alarm.
