Royal Mannerisms is a live, immersive audiovisual celebration of Portland and the people who have fallen under the Island's spell.
A mirthful, mischievous and mystical evening inspired by folklore, history, fiction, dialect, geology, maritime life and personal experience.
Portlanders and those with deep connections to the island share stories, songs, poetry and performances in a carefully curated evening where humour, mystery and ambiguity allow fact and fiction to blur.
Combining spoken word, live performance, sound, light and projection, Royal Mannerisms unfolds as a labyrinth of voices, revealing an island shaped as much by imagination as history.
This is not an artwork placed on Portland—it is one that grows from it.
