DIVA contemporary and b-side co-present a unique opportunity to see a selection of early video animations made by Joe Stevens.

Joe’s artistic production included both film and sound. He was excited by the creative possibilities of using new technology to reach audiences, and he avidly explored the opportunities offered by digital media. In the short films showing here,  Joe creates experimental abstractions that fuse technology with the visual arts, treating animated landscapes as a simplified drawing: connecting themes of light, colour and chance, informed and inspired by the ‘St Ive’s School’ of painting.

Sadly, Joe passed away in July 2014. This event celebrates some of his work and remembers a much missed colleague and friend.
