We are delighted to be hosting an exhibition of photographs by pupils from Atlantic Academy, Portland.
Pupils from Atlantic Academy were invited to take part in a photographic challenge: to capture their own view of home, the Isle of Portland.
Working across four themes — Active Portland, My Portland, Natural Portland, and Working Portland — students explored the many different ways the island is experienced by young people who live here. Each photograph offers a personal perspective, revealing the places, landscapes, and moments that shape everyday life on Portland.
“Every photograph in this display tells a story of place, perspective, and belonging. In the competition, Secondary students from Atlantic Academy were invited to show how they see the Isle of Portland and share their own specific sense of identity as an islander. Their creativity reminds us that feeling part of a place often begins with noticing it—and we are immensely proud of the work displayed here.”
