A safe, welcoming space where your story matters, by The Jawbone Collective
All are welcome, even if you have not explored writing or poetry before.
Our workshops are a safe and supportive space designed for people who may be new to writing or poetry whose voices have been historically underrepresented, as well as those more experienced who still have something to share.
We believe that diverse voices are essential to creating a rich, authentic portrait of life in Weymouth and Portland and want to share that through poetry. There will be opportunities to share your words at two Spoken Word Nights and for your poetry to be displayed as part of a poetry trail across Weymouth and Portland, which will be live throughout August.
We warmly welcome participants from: refugee and migrant backgrounds, BAME, LGBTQIA+, disabled, neurodivergent and working class communities, as well as people experiencing housing insecurity and economically marginalised individuals.
