Another opportunity to see an amazing new film inspired by Brandy Row, Portland
After wowing festival audiences in September, we have been inundated with requests to re-screen the film ‘Entry’.
Come along and see it for the first time, the second time or bring some friends to enjoy the experience with you.
The film was created by artists Anna Heinrich & Leon Palmer and explores the Tudor cottages known as Brandy Row on Chesil beach front. Built from local stone, these cottages have undergone many changes shaped as much by the powerful forces of nature as by the hands of humans. Early photographs depict a building quite different to the one you can see today yet throughout time the doorway, known as ‘Entry’, has remained a constant threshold to the ebb and flow of community life and the elements.
Working with local company 4DSurveying, the artists have sought to capture a version of the building and its immediate surroundings, at this moment in time, using 3D laser technology to create a ‘digital twin’. The results are ghost like, ephemeral images, layers of visual information like huge futuristic 3D engravings which appear to simultaneously tie the past and present together in a mesmerising projection and audio installation.
And that’s not all, as a special seasonal double bill, we are also delighted to be screening our latest film, which charts our Heritage Lottery-funded This Land project over the last two years, culminating in the Festival this year. You might see yourself or someone you know!
Plus, enjoy a free drink with your ticket and join the b-side team for a warm winter get-together.
Total film run time is 30 mins approx.
