On your travels around Portland keep an eye out for artworks replacing adverts at seven bus stops across the island – we’ve turned Portland into a huge outdoor gallery.
These images were selected from the winning entries for the annual Evolver Prize – open to artists in the South West to create the front cover of Evolver, the Wessex arts and culture magazine.
Installed at bus shelters around the island, these works take on a different significance, seen fleetingly from a car, bike or bus or can be examined for longer, close up by pedastrians waiting for the next bus.
b-side bus stops is a partnership with Evolver and Sherborne House Arts (SHA) and is supported by SHA as part of its aim to create opportunities for showing visual art in non-gallery spaces.
