Event Update for Sun 14th Sept

IMPORTANT EVENT UPDATES SUN 14th SEPT

It’s due to be a wet and windy afternoon on Portland, so to keep everyone safe, artworks working and our fabulous volunteer stewards dry we have taken the decision to close all the installations at High Angle Battery at 2.30pm today. The 4pm Siren Walk will also be cancelled.
We hope you appreciate our reasons and understand our decision.
In better news, other outdoor events have become indoor treats, so you can still enjoy some arty fun in the dry.
The Parade is still on and has just got a lot weirder! Join us at The Weymouth & Portland Sailing Academy in a big beautful hanger and parade like you mean it! Everyone is invited to this celebratory party to close this year’s b-side BIG Weekend.
We want as many community members as possible to get involved, so tell your friends, your family, it’s still on, it’s still weird and we will still be dancing!

FREE FAMILY FUN

12.45 and 2.45pm The Iguanodon Restaurant – family friendly fun from those silly people at Emerald Ant (shows last approx 40 mins)
1.30-2.30pm making craft activities with Emerald Ant
3.30-5.30pm Make a spangly fish puppet led by artist Holly Miller

LIVE MUSIC

5-6pm Weymouth Concert Brass
6-7pm Tongues of Fire to get your toes tapping and your wiggle on with an upbeat live soundtrack of New Orleans grooves, Ska, funk, Balkan tunes and more, a joyful noise for dreaming, dancing and celebration.
Expect the unexpected, dress up in your weirdest, we can’t wait to see your outfits this year!

IT’S ALL FREE AND EVERYONE IS INVITED

Huge thanks to Weymouth & Portland Sailing Academy for coming to the rescue and offering their beauttiful hanger.
Please pass this info on if you can!
