Reine beau is a b-side bursary artist from Budmouth College.
“My name is Reine beau, I’m 18 and have lived in Weymouth the majority of my life. Growing up here, I’ve found it easy to become disillusioned with the natural beauty of Weymouth and Portland. Being given the opportunity to take part in b-side has reawakened my love for the nature, history and folklores surrounding the Jurassic coast – three key aspects which are so easily dismissed in a world fuelled by consumerism. Lots of my work is based around the figure especially the female form, I draw a lot of inspiration from Renaissance works, as I feel that the fluidity of the paint is beautiful. My work is about taking the beautiful and making it known as that or something completely ugly”
For b-side 2016
Reine beau will be documenting the historic and contemporary lives of Portland Fisherman.
