New Artists

The b-side New Artists have been exploring Portland through walks, talks, zoom calls and google maps! They will be coming together at the 2021 festival to share their stories, ideas and artworks.

Jasmine Hunt is a junior designer and interior architecture student. She is interested in traditional and contemporary arts, working on digital visualisation and portraiture as well as spatial design relating to narrative and human experience.

Calum Kirkland specialises in photography and filmmaking and is about to graduate in Media Production at Bournemouth University. He is hoping to work his way into the industry through becoming a runner or through freelance work.

James McColl is an artist and writer based in the South-West, his work has a particular focus on mental health, individual struggles and class. He is one half of First Line theatre, a live art group producing site responsive performances.

Gemma Stephens works with moving-image, photography and text. She is interested in creating work that will look nothing like the world but can be used to describe the world. She is hoping to discover things as she goes, and she invites her audience to share the pleasure of discovery.

Charlie Pascoe is interested in painting with watercolours and acryclic inks, she likes brightly coloured artwork and 70s inspired psychedelic album covers. Having just left Weymouth college, she is due to start a new apprenticeship with Wow Creative Print, where she has been selling original prints and cards for the past 3 years.
