Matthew is an artist and musician from Cornwall. He tells stories about animals, monsters, insects, love, the ocean, and death.
Performing live – with puppets and music – The Matthew Robins Show is a collection of songs, short stories, shadow-puppets, home-made animations, made-up games, choose-your-own-adventures, and competitive audience puppet-making. It’s a bit like a one-man variety show (but with other people as well). Come and hear about Flyboy (he’s half-boy/half-fly) and his friend Mothboy, Evaporina (she can’t sit too close to the radiator), the sad story of the Wicker Cat, and what happened when Gravity didn’t get invited to the office party.
Matthew will be performing at b-side festival with some of his band, and in the last few years they have performed this show in such venues as the Barbican, The National Theatre, Tate Modern and Tate Britain and an installation of his work is on permanent display at the Science Museum in London.
