Eco artists group Magnificent Revolution worked with young people from TIDES Project Centre, Royal Manor Bike Club and Easton drop-in Youth Club to build brilliant eco-friendly pedal powered generators that can power projectors, PA’s, DJ decks and all manner of other equipment enabling ommunities and young people in particular to share films, music and their creative talent.
Pedal power ruled at the b-side Festival launch where guests hoped on bikes to keep the DJ decks working and then made another appearance outside Quiddles Cafe on Portland where films created by young people were screened powered by four bikes and lots of willing pedal pushers!
These resources remain in the care of the community groups that created them and will provide lots more opportunities for young people to showcase their talents. To see how these machines were built check out the film ‘How to Make a Bike Powered Cinema’.
