James McColl is an artist and writer based in the South-West, his work has a particular focus on mental health, individual struggles and class. He is one half of First Line Theatre, a live art group producing site-responsive performances.

“I’m interested in the constraints and limitations of virtual mapping and the point at which that meets real-world maps. I think my work stems from longer research projects and I’ve just visited Portland to understand some of the spaces better. What stood out to me was the quarry that constantly moves and changes with the amount of stone there – changing the geographical map, like an ever-moving maze.”
