After many incredible years, we’re saying farewell to our brilliant Co-Founder and Curator of Research and Learning, Sally Watkins, as she moves on from b-side.
From the very beginning, Sally has shaped the heart and soul of b-side — setting the ethical and curatorial principles that continue to guide us today. Her vision, care, and deep thoughtfulness have laid the foundations not just for where we are now, but for where we’re heading.
We’ll never forget the late nights and early mornings spent with Sally conjuring up haikus, dances, music events, and awe-inspiring art installations. Her playful spirit and sensitivity have left a lasting mark on all of us — and on Portland itself.
To say we’re grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it. Thank you, Sally, for your immense contribution, your wild ideas, and your unwavering dedication. We are honoured to carry forward your thoughtful, joyful legacy — and we’re so excited for what’s to come.
We wish you all the very best for your next adventures, and we’re already looking forward to welcoming you back to Portland (and many a b-side event!) in the years ahead.
