This year b-side is joining forces with Dorset Seafood Festival in Weymouth – one of the top five food festivals in the UK. Enjoy a day of mouth-watering seafood menus, celebrity chefs, local food producers, Pommery champagne and then join b-side for an evening of outdoor film and live music.
b-side festival presents WRACK & DRIFT, a unique outdoor pop up event fusing film, sound and music – expect a huge outdoor screen, a unique film and an ensemble of live musicians poised to take us all on an uncharted journey of sound and vision.
An hour long film created for the event by b-side includes edits from the 1916 silent film classic ‘20,000 Leagues under the Sea’, surf movies, archive film and animation. A live improvised soundtrack performed by awarding winning Bristol based musicians Eyebrow, Pete Judge and Paul Wigens, Tim Hill from street band Tongues of Fire, circuit bending mayhem, DIY electronics supplied by Hacker Farm Farmer Glitch, Kek-W and Bren, electronic exotica from Alex Mckechnie, Ram Jam on the DJ decks all mixed and served up by Andrew Cleeton aka ‘Doctor Ordered‘ ex Hacienda resident DJ and our MIXMASTER for the night.
Featuring film excerpts from South West filmakers and artists James Dean, Sue Austin, Ivon Oates, Lucy Watkins and Thomas Hughes.
Bring a chair, wrap up warm, enjoy some delectable edible treats from the sea and prepare yourselves for a night at the cinema like never before.
This event has been kindly sponsored by our friends at Weird Fish.
