Raphael Daden

Commissioned by b-side

"I’m an artist, who works in many different materials from steel to acrylic, resin, glass, using forms of lighting like LEDs, Neon, EL wire and natural light. Light and colour is used a lot in my work to create bold and striking minimal forms, artworks are sometimes integrated in buildings or are freestanding sculptural artworks.

I like to work with bold colour within my work to make my sculptures stand out and resonate a strong energy into the surrounding environment. A big part within my artworks is the use of light, which transforms the artworks and space at night."

For b-side 2018

Raphael proposes to work in the abandoned armament storage tunnels, also know as the Ghost Tunnels at The Verne High Angle Battery site based on Portland. He will be creating a series of light based artworks with EL wire for visitors to experience within these dark tunnel spaces.
