A special art exhibition and event for World Alzheimer’s Day

World Alzheimer’s Day is a day on which Alzheimer’s organizations around the world concentrate their efforts on raising awareness about Alzheimer’s and dementia. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia, a group of disorders that impairs mental functioning.

Souvenirs: Migratory Objects 15 July to 05 August

Summer is here (really!) and b-side is pleased to present work by two very different artists exploring the holiday tradition of 'souvenirs' in the Outpost project space on Portland. Artists Louise Atkinson and Christian Edwardes explore the souvenir; that beloved pocket money treasure, traveller of kitch and memento of a unique encounter that can never be revisited in its ‘original’ sense.

Dorset based photographer Brendan Buesnel will be exhibiting his latest series of landscape photographs at b-side’s Outpost in May.

Brendan was commissioned by b-side in 2016 to take a series of images that reflect the unique character of Dorset’s intriguing Island; many of his images were used in the b-side Festival catalogue, but only now can be seen together as a collection.

b-side has creme eggs to give away to the first 100 people who tell us their best gags this Easter.

Everyone's welcome to our Yolkathon.

Will your joke register on our giggleometer ? All jokes will go on display at Outpost, 77 Fortuneswell to spread a little happiness to passers-by.

Outpost will be ready for yolks on Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th April from 12pm to 5pm. Just pop in and do your worst!

Work by artist Simon Hitchens kicks off a season of new possibilities at b-side’s new project space on Portland

b-side upped sticks and made the permanent move to the Isle of Portland in Dorset last year. Taking over an empty shop space in Fortuneswell, the new space became a real hub at the Festival in September and has since hosted various community and artist events.

b-side festival is returning this year and in the leading up to the festival b-side will be hosting talks by the artists taking part. Kicking off this programme is underwater film maker and artist Emma Critchley.

b-side, the organisers of the biennial b-side arts festival, will be launching their brand new project space and office – Outpost – on Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th May. Just in time for this year’s festival.
